Gregory Jordan leads Apostol , Kowal & Jordan’s Financial Restructuring Practice Group in Chicago. His practice is nationwide in scope. Mr. Jordan has been involved in workout, bankruptcy and insolvency matters since 1984 and has gained substantial experience in dealing with troubled assets, reorganizations and restructurings. Mr. Jordan views all matters with the idea that he needs to prepare for litigation and analyzes situations with the idea of minimizing loss exposure.
He has a strong understanding of many aspects of the above areas of law and regularly represents secured lenders and major creditors along with debtors in significant commercial Chapter 11 cases and complex litigation. Mr. Jordan has guided clients successfully in the various aspects of the Chapter 11 proceeding from pre-bankruptcy planning through plan confirmation and including post-confirmation matters.
Mr. Jordan has been involved in numerous and substantial out-of-court workouts related to the automotive industry. He has worked to restructure complex lending transactions and other debt restructuring. Mr. Jordan also maintains a substantial complex litigation practice representing clients in federal and state courts throughout the country. Mr. Jordan represents fiduciaries of all types, including bankruptcy trustees, federal and state court receivers, and assignees for the benefit of the creditors. He also maintains a substantial outside general counsel practice.
He also represents buyers of assets in and outside of the bankruptcy courts. He has provided services to property owners in real estate disputes including matters under Section 365 of the Bankruptcy Code.
Mr. Jordan has authored various articles on a variety of bankruptcy and insolvency related issues.
Mr. Jordan also has made numerous presentations to business associations, credit professionals, lenders, and attorneys in, among others, the following areas: Chapter 11 practice and procedure; participating on Chapter 11 Creditors' Committees; foreclosures, alternatives to bankruptcy such as workouts, out-of-court composition agreements and assignments for the benefit of creditors and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code.
